About myself

     

     Hi, my name is Karli Norkin and I am in 10th grade. I like to cook and play sports. I chose to take this class because I have always liked to film myself doing things. When I was younger, I would record myself saying the news. I always loved to use the camera to show what I was cooking as well. When I was around 8, I joined a cooking competition and had to create a video of me making my own recipe. I loved the process of making and recording the video, then editing it. I joined a few competitions when I was younger and for all of them, I had to film myself cooking. I always loved to pretend like I had my own cooking show as well. I got my own professional camera when I was around 11. I would carry it around with me all the time, and I would take video and pictures whenever I found inspiration. So, when I heard about this class I thought it was perfect for me. I am excited to learn more about film and how to edit videos. I'm not very good with technology so, I hope to become better at that. I also enjoy travel and whenever I go somewhere I bring my camera and take videos of the different cultures and styles of living I see. I haven't traveled in a while so I haven't been able to take as many videos. I still take videos of special events and fun days. I am excited to work on the group project. I have always wanted to make a really cool video and work on it with a group of people. I am also excited to learn from them and see how they like to film and edit. So, that is me.😋

  We started off first with watching the short film,9. It was only about 10 minutes long and there was no dialogue during it. When I first watched the film, I thought that there would be some dialogue. Doing, or having would increase the quality of this short film greatly. Not only would it make it better, but easier to understand what the plot is. There were many times throughout this short film where I didn't know what was happening. I didn't know what was going on or the plot throughout the whole film. It was hard to follow without any dialogue.I  had to resort to watching the characters' body language in order to understand what was happening. Maybe the little noises the characters made for each emotion would have been better. But that isn't very easy when they're little rag dolls. A level Intro Blog

I am Karli Norkin, I am in grade 11, and l ast year  I took part  in  as  level Media studies.  Thanks to a lot of hard work and devotion  I  passed and am  now in A level Media studies.  I took the year  to learn the vocabulary and key wording I needed to succeed in the class. I also learned the best ways to film and edit over all my projects.  I started with my commercial. This project was the beginning of my leaning towards filming. This opened me up to new angles and lighting to use.  After the commercial I knew how to create a film overall. The best ways to show the emotions of the  characters , or the best w ay to sell an object. After the commercial I made a music video that was longer and more complex than the commercial.  This complexified my knowledge of  filming and  writing plots. Planning Blog Schedule

Schedule Tuesday 21, 2021- We will begin our filming, by starting the first scene where they are in the kitchen watching the news as they hear that an asteroid is coming to earth. This will be the first scene we will film to get the extra actors and characters out of the way. The next scene we will film on this day is the scene where Lily runs over to her neighbors house to confess her feelings before they die. This will be the last scene we will film on this day. Tuesday 28, 2021- We will continue to film, we will take a break to enjoy the holidays then come back to finish the film. We will start by filming the third scene at the park where the two girls Lily, and Charlotte. We will film the compilation of the girls doing activities on this day as well, we will have to remain on schedule starting with the park then going to the car, bathroom, and backyard.
