My Music Video

This project taught me a lot and it was fun. I learned how to create a story by following what the music was telling me. I enjoyed creating the scenes to go with the story of the song. When I started the process of creating the scenes for the video, I decided to go with a more upbeat feeling. I thought this would go well with the song. Writing all the scenes was a great way to increase my knowledge of creating a film. I enjoyed seeing my script come to life when we filmed. I liked creating the different viewpoints and concepts of the video. Deciding what activities, the girls should do was difficult, because I had a lot of different ideas but not enough time for them all. I decided on the activities in the video because I thought those were the most upbeat and fun. Filming the girls doing the activities is difficult because I wanted it to portray the fun side of life as much as possible. Adding different fun camera angles made that more possible. It brought a whimsical factor to the video that I could not get any other way. Swaying the camera to show the full view of the girls riding their bikes or the girls dancing is a very important part of the video. I also wanted to film during different times of the day to show a contrast of light. I added a few still shots just so it was not too much movement. When I edited the video, I did not want any scenes to be too long. So, I cut them down to make the activities seem fun and fast. It also kept up with the pace of the song. I added quick transitions, so it didn’t interrupt the tempo of the scenes. So, I overall learned a lot during this project, and it was fun to plan, film, and edit it.
