Our Pitch

 For our film, we decided we want to do a mystery sort of theme. It is inspired by the films: Stranger Things and IT. 

One of our pitches takes place in a small town, where a little girl goes missing. One character drives by a missing sign for a little girl. A group of teenagers accidentally find her hair bow while hanging out in a field. That is where they decide that they are going to find her and bring her home safely. The ending of the opening sequence would lead right up to them discovering the bow, and then leave the audience would be left on a cliffhanger. 


For the second pitch, we thought it would take place at the beach. A group of friends are hanging out at the beach. They are playing volleyball when a bad pass takes the ball towards a pile of weeds. One friend goes to receive it when a suspicious stranger asks her for directions. She points them the right way and turns to go back to her friends as they continue the conversation. She begins to get worried and just as she turns away, the person grabs her and the screen goes black. 


Both of these films interest us because they are exciting and they will be fun to create. Both films are types of mysteries which we find very interesting. The first film idea will be fun to make and we will be able to incorporate a lot of camera angles and effects to the film. We like the story of the first one and how it will leave the audience in suspense. The second film is also interesting to us, because it is another mystery with an interesting plot. We think this one will be more difficult to film because of it being on the beach. We like the overall idea of the film but, the first film is the one we think will end up the best. 


In the end, we decided our final pitch will be our first one. In a small town, a little girl goes missing. A group of teenagers randomly stumble across the hair bow she was wearing in the missing poster, and set out to find her.

  We started off first with watching the short film,9. It was only about 10 minutes long and there was no dialogue during it. When I first watched the film, I thought that there would be some dialogue. Doing, or having would increase the quality of this short film greatly. Not only would it make it better, but easier to understand what the plot is. There were many times throughout this short film where I didn't know what was happening. I didn't know what was going on or the plot throughout the whole film. It was hard to follow without any dialogue.I  had to resort to watching the characters' body language in order to understand what was happening. Maybe the little noises the characters made for each emotion would have been better. But that isn't very easy when they're little rag dolls. I am Karli Norkin, I am in grade 11, and l ast year  I took part  in  as  level Media studies.  Thanks to a lot of hard work and devotion  I  passed and am  now in A level Media studies.  I took the year  to learn the vocabulary and key wording I needed to succeed in the class. I also learned the best ways to film and edit over all my projects.  I started with my commercial. This project was the beginning of my leaning towards filming. This opened me up to new angles and lighting to use.  After the commercial I knew how to create a film overall. The best ways to show the emotions of the  characters , or the best w ay to sell an object. Planning Blog Schedule

Schedule Tuesday 21, 2021- We will begin our filming, by starting the first scene where they are in the kitchen watching the news as they hear that an asteroid is coming to earth. This will be the first scene we will film to get the extra actors and characters out of the way. The next scene we will film on this day is the scene where Lily runs over to her neighbors house to confess her feelings before they die. This will be the last scene we will film on this day. Tuesday 28, 2021- We will continue to film, we will take a break to enjoy the holidays then come back to finish the film. We will start by filming the third scene at the park where the two girls Lily, and Charlotte. We will film the compilation of the girls doing activities on this day as well, we will have to remain on schedule starting with the park then going to the car, bathroom, and backyard.
