Continuing to Film

Image
My group and I continued filming. We all met one day at one of our houses. We made it the house that was closest to the railroad tracks. We went towards a bush area. We found an area that looked run down. There was very little shade in this area. We all began practicing our lines. Once we all went through it together, we began to film. We had issues with the lighting. It was hard to have someone film because there would be a shadow of their body in the frame. We had to find the perfect angles so there would be no shadow. We took a lot of takes to get each scene right. We each messed up a few times. Either with our lines or the way we moved was not right. We also had issues with our equipment. Sense we are not in school, we do not get the equipment provided for us. So, we used our cell phones camera to film. There were issues with the sound quality when we spoke. We had to try a few times to speak loud enough. We did not finish filming on this day. We got through all of the scenes with ...

Beginning to Film

Image
We have now started our filming process. We are going to take about two days to film. We are going to start filming over spring break. On one day we will begin to film the scenes in the neighborhood. We will meet for a few hours to film these scenes. We will take the time on that day to practice and go over the script together in person. We will practice the scenes and work together to present the story as best as possible. After we go over the script and rehearse the actions, we will take a first take. We will make sure to practice the angles of the cameras to get the perfect mystery shots. We will make sure that even though we will all three be acting, that we will still get perfect shots. We will make sure the location of each shot has perfect lighting. We will then shoot each scene until they are perfect. We will watch each take to make sure we got the right angles. Then we will stop shooting for that day. Two of us on the editing team will begin cutting the scenes down. We will st...

Planning Music

Image
My group and I started this process by giving ideas on what each of us though the music should be. We discussed this over a few days. We wanted to make sure we chose the right songs. We each gave some ideas on what we thought would be best for our film. We all agreed there should be two songs. One song would be on the radio in the car as they are driving. This will be faint in the background as the actors speak. We will make sure to muffle the sound when we edit the film. We also wanted a song over parts of the rest of the film. So overall we wanted two songs for the whole film. We went through each song we wanted. We wanted it to go with our film and have a mystery type feel to it. We listened to each song with our film in mine. We then voted on what we thought would work best. Once we decided on the songs, we would like we had to get the songs. We knew this would take some time. We needed to email the company and contact them on other social media. We wanted to do this early, so we h...

Filming Plan Blog

While my group and I wrote and casted the film we also decided where it should take place and everything that would happen in it. We went through all of the possible option. We decided on two main places. Once we decided on that we waned to set specific things to happen in those places. So, we wrote out the entire script. We planned where everything should go and what everyone should be doing. The three of us are going to be actors. We also decided what days would be best for us to film on. We are still planning some of the specific spots where we want a specific scene. We want to make sure to have every detail planned. We decided to make the script simple and not to over the top. There is mystery and more added into the script. We have not filmed yet because we are still waiting for the perfect time for us all to get together. Once everyone is available, we will film. We also wanted to pick a week that was sunny and a little cloudy. This will work better with our lighting. We have als...

Props and Camera Equipment Planning

Image
When planning to film my group and I have had to plan and collect items that will help us film. We had to gather all of the supplies we might need while filming. When we are out filming, we have to have everything we need. We will not be able to just go grab something. So, we had to create a plan about what we wanted to bring. We made sure to pack up all of our props. We first had to find the props. We also had to make sure they went with our script. We had to collect everything and make sure it was enough. We had to make sure we had everything that we wrote in our scripts. We have to make sure to go through the script several times to be sure we have everything. We also made sure to bring the equipment we need to hang up the props. Then we had to figure out what camera equipment we would need. There are three of us in our and in some scenes, we are all in them as actors. So, we had to make sure to bring stands for the cameras. When planning we had to find a stand for the cameras. Ther...

Filming and Editing Blog

My project is making a lot of progress. We have planned, written the script, and much more. However, we have not started filming. My group and I wanted to make all of our plans and be organized. We decided to do all of these things before we film. We chose to do this to be more organized and create the best film possible. By waiting we have created a great script with an amazing plot. These things will make the audience more enticed and interested in the film. That is the most important part. So, we decided it was best to wait. We also wanted to make sure we could all film together. Some of us were not available. We also wanted to make sure we had enough time to film. We did not want to be on a time limit. The days we are going to film will be best for us. We want to make sure we have enough time to make each scene perfect. So, we chose the perfect days we could do that. We went over all the time we could film, and we found perfect dates for all of us. The more time we have befor...

Planning-Other Information

We planned out what days we will film, the location, the participants, and our health and safety information. We decided we will start filming on the 2 nd through 4 th of march. A few days later we decided we would film in our second location. On both of these filming days we want to edit down the clips after we finish them. Then on the 8 th through the 12 th we will edit our film. We will add our titles and transitions. Then a few days later we will add finishing touches and make sure the film is perfect. The location will start off on a street next to a stop sign. Our next location will be in an open field next to train tracks. We will be filming all of these scenes during the day. Our actors are all teenagers and one child. Abigail Koppel and Peyton Young will be filming the scenes. Ashlyn Young and Karli Norkin will be editing. The director will be Karli Norkin. We will have a safety team. The team will include Carey Young, Lena Koppel, and Kim Norkin. Costumes will be by...

Planning-Title

For our titles, we wanted to make sure they enticed our viewers. We wanted to make sure they looked good and went without genre. We also wanted to make sure it went with our story. The title's colors have a story behind them that goes with our film. The pink in our title is in pink and has a cursive look to it. This represents the bow in our film. The bow is pink and has curves just like the title shows. The words “the'' and “bow” are in the same font and color. This makes it less busy and allows the pink to stand out. The “Pink'' is also a little bigger than the other two words. This makes sure that it will stand out. The other titles are all going to be in a different font and color. This allows it to all go together with the backgrounds of each separate part they are on. The fonts for the titles are all straight-lined and not whimsical. Some of them almost look like a typewriter wrote it. This creates a mystery. A typewriter font is mysterious and stern. It is ...

Planning-Storyboard

Our storyboard displays everything that will happen in our film. There are enough things to fill the time we are given. The story will be filled enough so the viewers will know what the story will be about. There will be an ending that will leave the audience wondering. There will be no time wasted with unnecessary things. There will be hints and details to show what may happen. Every scene tells part of the story. Everything is put together to create suspense and mystery. The story behind each scene will deepen the overall film. Everything is important and will be the perfect time when all together. The scene in the car shows the emotion. The shot of the missing cat and child poster creates suspense. Then the girl riding by will be suspicious. Then the scene in the house makes things seem more interesting. When the girls are walking on the railroad tracks talking adds to the story as well. The last scene then shows them finding the bow. This creates suspense as to what will happ...
